Methods are described for making suitable microscopic slides for particle size distribution analysis on two types of powders found difficult to do by the usual methods. One involves the use of electrical charges to repel the particles and fixing the aqueous suspension with a gelatinecoated slide to overcome Brownian movement. The other, for magnetic materials, involves heating the sample to a temperature above the Curie point, dispersing and fixing them on a slide before they cool.
