Experimental results are given which demonstrate the influence of solid-state screens on the radiation of an expanding laser-produced plasma. The authors have discovered the effect of the nonmonotonic intensity of radiation of a recombining plasma during its encounter with a shock wave reflected from the screen. A theory of this effect is proposed for the case where a change in the ionic composition in a shock wave is insignificant, and numerical calculations have been made.
