| dc.description | Limitations of present knowledge of plasma equilibrium profiles hamper a proper identification of MHD modes. However, through continued improvement of both numerical calculations and experimental observations the authors may witness the birth of a new kind of spectroscopy, properly called MHD spectroscopy, in the coming decade. This is illustrated by studies of edge localised modes and external excitation of toroidal Alfven eigenmodes. |
