dc.description Experiments using high-power heating during the current ramp-up phase of the discharge have obtained the highest D-D neutron rates in JET; neutrons , with , keV and keV. The best discharges ( MA and tesla) have peaked pressure profiles with a transport barrier located at = 0.55. The pressure peaking is limited by MHD modes and requires active input power control to achieve the best performance. Deuterium neutral beam injection into a tritium-rich target plasma has established internal transport barriers at power levels close to the lowest threshold for pure deuterium plasmas.
