The instrument described will record photographically a time-scanned spectrum of a pulsed event in the vacuum ultra-violet region. It covers any 1000 Å range between 500 and 2500 Å with a dispersion of 8.3 Å mm<sup>-1</sup>. Time resolution is achieved by reflection from a rotating mirror and has a maximum value of 3.1 mm μsec<sup>-1</sup>. Some experimental results are shown.
