An apparatus has been developed for the measurement of polymer compressibilities in both the molten and solid states for use up to 5000 atmospheres and 300°C, with control to ±0.1 degC. Pressures are maintained and controlled with a dead weight gauge-oil injection system, the volume changes being determined with a transducer of the differential transformer type.
