A method is described whereby replicas from a marked or clearly visible area on a surface may be accurately mounted for viewing in the electron microscope. A new pattern of support grid is used, but no other special equipment is required. An uninterrupted area 180 μm square can be reliably and repeatedly examined throughout a series of replica operations.
