A piezoelectric transducer suitable for determining the geometry of Kármán vortex street by measuring acoustic level pressure fluctuations is described. The study of wake behind a circular cylinder gives the ratio of lateral to longitudinal spacing between the vortices, which compares favourably with the theoretical value predicted by von Kármán.
