| dc.description | A tensile test apparatus was developed for testing small rings of ductile or brittle materials. The design, operation and results of tests with ½ in. diameter steel rings are discussed. Results show that most of the tensile properties can be measured with reasonable accuracy and that the apparatus should be particularly useful for studying materials produced in shapes that are difficult to evaluate by standard tensile-testing techniques. |
