Description of a viscometer, based on the Ostwald form, which enables measurements to be made with the apparatus completely enclosed, without rubber tubing or greased joints. The resetting is carried out by a magnetically actuated iron plunger in a truly cylindrical glass tube. An example is given of the accuracy attainable with a benzene solution.
