The authors show that indium substitution in bismuth compounds provokes opposite behaviour as regards the 80 K or the 110 K superconducting phases of Bi compounds. Small doping decreases the diamagnetic signal in the (4334) phase, shifts the AC susceptibility curves towards higher temperatures for the (2212) phase and increases the superconducting volume for the 110 K phase.
