Oxygen stoichiometry and flux creep activation energy YBa<sub>2</sub>Cu<sub>3</sub>O<sub>x</sub>

The flux-creep activation energy U<sub>o</sub> has been obtained by using Arrhenius plots for polycrystalline YBa<sub>2</sub>Cu<sub>3</sub>O<sub>x</sub> for various oxygen stoichiometries. An exponential relationship between U<sub>o</sub> and x has been established for different applied magnetic fields. This relationship can be used to explain the resistive transition broadening for samples with different oxygen concentrations. The observed field dependence of U<sub>o</sub> suggests the existence of 90 K and 60 K superconductors.
