The authors studied the magnetic and transport properties of pure Y1Ba2Cu3O7- delta and Y1Ba2Cu3O7- delta /intergrain Ag (10 and 30 wt.%) composites. The results show that the enhancement of the intergrain 'transport' critical current density in the Y1Ba2Cu3O7- delta /Ag (10 wt.%) composite is caused by the SNS proximity junctions built up by intergrain silver and not by increased intergrain flux pinning.
