Effects of electron irradiation on irreversibility line in superconducting YBa<sub>2</sub>Cu<sub>3</sub>O<sub>7</sub>

The authors have investigated the effects of 2.5 MeV electron irradiation on the irreversibility line of a sintered YBa<sub>2</sub>Cu<sub>3</sub>O<sub>7</sub> by applying DC and AC measuring techniques. They find that after electron irradiation, both the superconducting transition temperature T<sub>c</sub> and the irreversibility temperature T<sub>irr</sub>, determined by either technique, decrease; the decrease in T<sub>irr</sub> scales with the decrease in T<sub>c</sub>.
