dc.description In the process of vaporisation, the heat contribution from overcoming the surface tension added to the relevant volume expansion term shows a remarkable constancy with respect to temperature in the case of alkali liquid metals. This sum also exhibits a definite power dependence on the molecular weight. These features lead to direct physical interpretation of the Eotvos law.
