The authors show that electrostatic interaction between bulk optical phonons and 2D plasmons leads to the formation of a coupled plasmon-phonon excitation localised near the plane of a quantum well. The dispersion of the coupled phonon-magnetoplasmon mode as well as the electric field distribution is determined.
