We report the results of our dielectric measurements carried out systematically on polyemeraldine base (PEB) in an Al-PEB-Al configuration, as functions of both frequency (5 Hz-13 MHz) and temperature (77-380 K). An attempt has also been made to understand the transport of charge in PEB in terms of the polaron-hopping model applicable to amorphous semiconductors. Analysis of the AC conductivity data indicates the operation of two relaxation mechanisms in this conducting polymer.
