Phase transitions and phase sequence in La-doped lead zirconate-titanate ceramics with a Zr/Ti ratio of 92/8 and La content up to 1 at.% were investigated by dielectric, pyroelectric, X-ray and Raman scattering methods. The phase sequence antiferroelectric (A<sub>0</sub>)-low-temperature ferroelectric (F<sub>R(LT</sub>))-high-temperature ferroelectric (F<sub>R(HT</sub>))-paraelectric (p<sub>c</sub>) was confirmed in these ceramics. The results obtained indicate the need to ascertain a precise phase diagram of PLZT materials in the range close to the phase boundary separating the A<sub>0</sub> and F<sub>R</sub> phases for low lanthanum contents by taking into account the occurrence of both F<sub>R(LT</sub>) and F<sub>R(HT</sub>) phases.
