dc.description An approach is proposed and outlined to study the scattering cross section of a polaron by a weak Coulomb field in the presence of an external single-mode linearly polarized laser field. The frequency of the laser field is assumed to be much larger than the optical phonon frequency. The scattering cross section is found to be more sensitive to the electron - photon interaction than to the electron - phonon interaction.
