| dc.description | The authors perform a qualitative analysis of the results of an Sp(1, R) calculation for <sup>8</sup>Be in a deformed harmonic-oscillator basis. The model basis of states is given by the angular momentum projection of deformed phonon states, determined by the method of variation after projection. These deformed phonons are associated to giant monopole and quadrupole resonances. |
