| dc.description | Two measurements of the half-life of the 2 nu beta beta -decay of <sup>76</sup>Ge are reported. One was made with the PNL-USC natural isotopic abundance germanium twin detectors. T<sub>1</sub>2/<sup>2 nu </sup>=(1.12+<sub>-0.26</sub><sup>+0.48</sup>)*10<sup>21</sup> y (2 sigma ), and one with a Soviet-manufactured 0.25-kg Ge (Li) detector isotopically enriched to 85% in <sup>76</sup>Ge, T<sub>1</sub>2/<sup>2 nu </sup>(9.2+<sub>-0.4</sub><sup>+0.7</sup>)*10<sup>20</sup> y (2 sigma ). Both were measured in the same facility. These values are in good agreement with nuclear structure calculations and with an independent measurement by the ITEP-YPI collaboration. |
