The energy independence of the <sup>5</sup>Li<sub>gs</sub> Gamma width

The differential cross sections for the <sup>6</sup>Li(<sup>3</sup>He, alpha alpha p) reaction were measured at 1.6, 3.5, 7.0 and 9.0 MeV <sup>3</sup>He incident energies. Each <sup>5</sup>Li energy spectrum was analysed by an incoherent sum of the contributions coming from the ground and first excited states of the same nucleus. The Gamma values found are in line with the one adopted in the literature and with the ones deduced from the above reaction at E(<sup>3</sup>He)=2.5 MeV and from the <sup>7</sup>Li(p, t)<sup>5</sup>Li reaction at E(p)=43.7 MeV. No dependence of the <sup>5</sup>Li<sub>gs</sub> Gamma width on the <sup>3</sup>He incident energy has been observed.
