A combined method of level-density formalism in fission cross-section calculations

The energy dependence of the fission cross section for <sup>239</sup>Pu(n,f) and <sup>241</sup>Am(n,f) is analysed in terms of the double-humped fission barrier model to deduce the barrier heights. Good fits were obtained by assuming the first barrier is axially asymmetric, while assuming the second barrier is mass asymmetric. Barrier height parameters were obtained and compared with other results. The level density was calculated in the frame of the semi-microscopic combined method, and compared with other methods.
