dc.description High-energy -rays from the decay of the giant dipole resonance built on excited states were measured in coincidence with fission for the reactions. Both the -ray multiplicity and the -fission angular correlation were determined; the latter quantity is sensitive to the deformation of the fissioning nucleus. This sensitivity has been used in order to estimate the breakdown of dynamical fission time into its pre- and post-saddle components. A statistical model analysis, using a version of <TT> CASCADE</TT> modified to include pre- and post-saddle delay times in order to simulate the effects of dynamics, can reproduce the data with and for a dynamical fission time .
