The quark - meson coupling model for nuclear matter is extended to include the s quark and to describe strange hadronic matter. In a mean-field approximation, it is used to investigate the saturation properties of multi-lambda hypernuclear matter. The results are compared with those given by the Zimanyi - Moszkowski model.
