Taking the Gamow-Teller -decay operator as well as isoscalar and isovector multipole operators, the characteristic features of the response function in nuclei far from the -stability line are illustrated. The Hartree-Fock plus the random phase approximation (RPA) with Skyrme interactions is solved, taking into account simultaneously both the isoscalar and isovector correlation in the self-consistent RPA, which is solved in the coordinate space by the Green's function method. Displacement fields of some collective modes are also shown in order to obtain a deeper understanding of the dynamics.
