Results of elemental neutron-scattering measurements at incident energies of 4.5-10 MeV are presented. A comprehensive interpretation of the fast-neutron interaction with elemental and isotopic molybdenum at energies of ≤ 30 MeV is outlined. Spherical, vibrational and dispersive models are considered, including isospin, energy-dependent and mass effects. Existing dichotomies in the literature are alleviated. The models are vehicles for fundamental physical investigations and the provision of data for applied purposes. |
