Filtering noise from slowly varying signals taking advantage of a fast ADC in data acquisition

High-frequency noise in slowly varying signals has been filtered by designing a digital transient recorder which uses a fast analogue to digital converter to collect data at short intervals of time delta . In this design the data collected between two successive recordings of digital data at longer time intervals Delta are added and averaged to increase the signal-to-noise ratio. Such noise filtering does not distort single exponential signals encountered in relaxation studies.
