On the Genesis of the Magneto-Galvanic Effect in Neon Glow Discharge

Recently reported resonant dependence of neon glow discharge current on weak magnetic induction of the order of several tenths of mT (Magneto-Galvanic Effect) is analysed by a model involving the influence of coherence transfer on the ionization cross-section. The computation of the magneto-galvanic signal as function of both magnetic field and neon 2p<sup>5</sup>3s (1s<sub>i</sub>) states number densities shows consistency of the model with the experimental data and offers a possibility for additional cross-check of the model.
