The P̅ANDA experiment at the future facility FAIR will provide valuable data for our present understanding of the strong interaction. In preparation for the experiments, large-scale simulations for design and feasibility studies are performed exploiting a new software framework, P̅ANDAROOT, which is based on FairROOT and the Virtual Monte Carlo interface, and which runs on a large-scale computing GRID environment exploiting the AliEn<sup>2</sup> middleware. In this paper, an overview is given of the P̅ANDA experiment with the emphasis on the various developments which are pursuit to provide a user and developer friendly computing environment for the P̅ANDA collaboration. |
