| dc.description | Forward muon spectrometer in ALICE in the LHC experiments of CERN will look for signals of quark gluon plasma (QGP) formation in Pb-Pb collisions at 5.6 TeV/nucleon energy. This spectrometer is designed specifically to look for decays of heavy quarkoniums through the correlated muon pairs. The design and construction details with emphasis on the R & D contributions from the nodal agency. Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) will be presented. |
