dc.description Very efficient holographic surface relief grating inscription has been demonstrated using an He–Ne laser in an azobenzene-containing material. Alternatively other lasers such as an Ar<sup> + </sup> laser at 488 nm and a DPSS laser at 532 nm were also successfully used for inscription in the same material.
