Although a therapeutic group is different from a handball team in its primary task, physical arrangement, constitution, degree of acting versus reflecting and so on, there may be similarities since in both instances a group of human beings are interacting and communicating to reach purposeful goals. The author describes an attempt to apply group-analytic principles to seek out underlying conflicts and motivate a losing team.
