The focus of Management Communication Quarterly (MCQ) during its first six years is reviewed with the question in mind, Has a theme emerged that could be a de facto definition of management communication? The founding editors initially stated that the journal would be interdisciplinary and this theme has been maintained during the first six issues. The founding editors also intended the journal to focus on managerial application. This focus has been implemented by means of publishing a majority of articles that report field research with managers and professionals as subjects and make references to management application. However, a clear definition of management communication has not emerged but it will continue to develop with subsequent issues of MCQ. |
