| dc.description | The purpose of this study was to determine response to anxiety in musical performance in relation to anxiety theory statements concerning A-Trait and/or A-State arousal and the Drive or motivational properties of anxiety. Performances of 60 subjects were recorded under a reduced and an enhanced anxiety situation and were evaluated for musical quality by five adjudicators.From research results it was found that anxiety had positive effects on subjects' performances due to the Drive properties of anxiety. Further, musicians tend to respond to anxiety in relation to anxiety theory hypotheses. |
