Summary: The Professional Bibliographic System (PBS) was developed by a librarian to conform to ANSI standard bibliographic formats, though APA, MLA, and other formats are supported. It handles 1000 records on a floppy disk, over 20,000 records on a 10MB hard disk, and a maximum of 29,999 records on larger hard disks. It is a very user-friendly way of storing and retrieving bibliographic records. Moreover, Biblio-Link (BL) allows easy, automatic transfer of downloaded bibliographic computer searches to PBS. Unfortunately, there is as yet no easy way to do footnoting with this otherwise excellent system, unless one uses the ANSI standard approach (no footnotes, only author/date references to the bibliography). |
