The present study addresses two aspects of commercial video game parlors. Information on the physical and social environments parlors provide for youth was collected from interviews with parlor managers and informal observation. The general conclusion is that the environment provided varies considerably across parlors. In the second part of the study, parlor traffic was found to be largely a function of temporal and ecological variables, including season of year, day of week, time of day, and location of parlor.
