Following application, AGU has been elected an affiliated society of the American Institute of Physics. The Council hopes that this affiliation will help to assure the closest possible relationship between the communities of physicists and geophysicists. In addition to generalized benefits of affiliation with AIP, AGU will have the privilege of member‐rate subscriptions to journals of the AIP.
