| dc.description | This paper reviews present knowledge about the S<sub>q</sub> foci, discusses the cause of changes in the S<sub>q</sub> field, and describes problems concerning the determination of the S<sub>q</sub> focus. It is concluded that the foci in the potential fields of geomagnetic D<sub>q</sub> variations may be taken as approximately indicating the positions of ionospheric S<sub>q</sub> current foci. |
