Application of Industrial Dynamics Concepts to Decision Making in Environmental Management

Dynamic feedback modeling of the decision making processes of a California regional water quality board was carried out to study the interactions of the board with various groups having different vested interests in water quality and the impact of these interactions on achieved water quality. It is concluded that such models are useful for exploring the implications of alternative institutional arrangements, and some tentative recommendations are stated.
