A 10‐kilocycle per second doppler observation of the intermediate layer of the nighttime ionosphere

Abstract

An electron density profile of the nighttime ionosphere was obtained by rocket observation of the Doppler shift of 10.2‐kc/s signals transmitted from the ground. The experiment showed a layer between the usual E and F regions. Suggestions are made about future experiments of this kind.
