▪ Abstract Two-hybrid schemes for detecting protein-protein interactions have deepened our understanding of biology by allowing scientists to identify individual important proteins. Recent developments will allow biologists to chart regulatory networks and to rapidly generate hypotheses for the function of genes, allelic variants, and the connections between proteins that make up these networks. Future developments will allow biologists to test inferences about the function of network elements, and allow global approaches to questions of biological function. |
