The magnetic excitation dispersion relation of ordered, ferromagnetic Pt₃Mn has been measured by neutron inelastic scattering techniques at 80 and 293K. The dispersion relation is found to be similar to that observed for Pd₃Fe, but different from previous measurements on Pt₃Mn. The theoretical interpretation of these dispersion relations is discussed with emphasis on the influence of the bandstructure and the Fermi surface.
