The purpose of the present study was to examine the use of language functions in a structured setting by normal pre-school males and females. Two hundred and forty subjects were selected between the ages of 2 and 5 years. Results indicated statistically significant differences between the groups of children. These results are discussed relative to the need for a complete and thorough data base on how pre-school children use language.
