dc.description This case study examines the current crisis in female employment in the Bangladeshi garment industry: girls aged under 15 are being made redundant, in line with new requirements from Northern importers. The paper highlights the difficulty of using rights arguments to control employment conditions in a country where insecurity means that no job often equals no food or shelter.
