| dc.description | AbstractThe manuscript describes plasma carburizing process with an emphasis on process parameters rather than structure-property relationships. Following a brief description of the glow-discharge plasma the results on several steels are presented to show the effect of process parameters on the kinetics of carburizing.A diffusion model, utilizing forward finite difference numerical technique, is also given as an aid in estimating process temperatures and times to obtain desired case depths. |
