Improved virus quantification with a modified lesion assay procedure was obtained by a careful application of abrasive, by controlled wilting of assay leaves prior to inoculation, and by incubating the inoculated leaves in humidity panels under continuous illumination. This procedure increased both the sensitivity and reproducibility of the local lesion bioassay. |
