AbstractWilliamsidinium banksianum, a new fossil peridinioid dinoflagellate cyst is described from the Maastrichtian of Banks Island, N.W.T., Canada. The genus is distinguished by a combination archeopyle type 3 IP@ which has not been previously described. A new symbol “@”; is designated for use in the archeopyle formula to show attachment of plates involved in archeopyle formation. |
