AbstractAn optical technique used for the concentration measurement of cupric ions is developed. This technique is based on the idea that the intensity of a light beam absorbed by a copper sulfate solution is proportional to the solution concentration when the light beam passes through the solution. An experiment is performed in an electrochemical system and the concentration distribution of cupric ions is measured by this method to study the thermosolutal convection in the enclosure.
