AbstractThis article addresses the multiple disciplines that are involved with, that are challenged by, and that influence sexual addiction. Its intent is to review some of the disciplinary frameworks for viewing sexuality along with some of the historical sociocultural structures that affect sexuality. The article concludes with an agenda for action to direct sexual addiction/compulsion therapy and recovery toward healthy sexuality.
